From Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to Amsterdam by train and metro
By public transport your transfer should take not much more time than a taxi ride. The train ride from the airport to Central Station (€ 3.60 for a single journey) takes about 20 minutes, and from there you transfer to the Metro to Nieuwmarkt station. Any Metro departing from the Metro terminal at Central station will stop at Nieuwmarkt. Get tickets at the airport railway station for both your train ride and a 'strippenkaart' for your Metro ride. For the ride from Central Station to Nieuwmarkt stamp two strips per person in the yellow machines upon entering the Metro terminal. A taxi ride from Central Station is a good alternative if you have a lot of luggage, it will cost you around € 8. Please be aware of pickpockets and luggage thieves on these train and tramlines! They know you are tired after your flight, and not as alert as you would normally be. They are very active on these lines!
If you take the train, you can check for the schedules here.
From Nieuwmarkt Metro station to the apartments (literally 3 minutes).
Make sure you get out at the right exit from the station: it is marked 'Nieuwe Hoogstraat/ Snoekjessteeg.' When you get to the street level, you find a narrow alley immediately on your left, it is almost like a corridor and it is called 'Zuiderkerkhof'. It gets you to the square next to the South Church. Walk into the Zandstraat just past the Church on your right-hand side.
To the Kloveniersburgwal continue on the Zandstraat for 100 meters. Number 55 'De Korenbloemen' is at the corner on your right.
To the Raamgracht 23#1 or 23#2 take a left into the Zanddwarsstraat and again left on the Raamgracht. A few houses down you find number 23.
Parking in Amsterdam
Please note that there is paid parking in the city center seven days a week at € 4.80 per hour or € 43 per day. If you come by car it is probably easier to use one of the parking garages in the neighborhood: Waterlooplein or Markenhoven . Rates tend to be slightly better, and it avoids having to 'fill the meter' at odd times. A much better deal is a Park & Ride option at the Transferium Arena: around € 5.50 per 24 hours for the first 4 days, including free Metro tickets to deliver you to the Nieuwmarkt station, just around the corner from the apartments.
